Petcoke

Unlocking the Potential of Petroleum Coke

Petcoke:

A Versatile Energy Resource

Petroleum coke, commonly referred to as pet coke, is a carbon-rich byproduct of the oil refining process.

It is produced through the coking of heavy oils in specialized coker units. The coking process involves subjecting the oil feedstock to high temperatures, which vaporize the volatile components and leave behind solid carbon residues.

These residues are then further processed to yield different grades of pet coke, mainly green and calcined.
